Who we are
JMG Audio is a sound, lighting and audio-visual equipment hire company based at 3 Dale Road, Marlborough, Harare, Zimbabwe. We operate this website. If you have any question about this policy or about information we hold, contact us on (+263) 773 387 066 or at jmgaudio7@gmail.com.
What we collect, and when
The only personal information this website asks you for is what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address, your phone number and your message. We ask for all four because we cannot quote for an event without a way to reach you and something to quote on.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, your date of birth, your identity number, your physical address or any payment details. Nothing on this website takes payment.
Our web server keeps standard technical logs, as essentially all web servers do. These record things like the address of the page requested, the time, and the IP address making the request. We use them to keep the site running and to investigate faults or abuse.
What happens to a contact form enquiry
When you submit the contact form, the details are sent directly to our email inbox at jmgaudio7@gmail.com. They are not saved to a database on this website, and they are not added to any mailing list.
In other words, an enquiry becomes an email and nothing else. It sits in our inbox exactly like an email you had written to us yourself, and it is handled by the people who quote and run jobs.
We use your details to reply to you, prepare a quote, and where you go ahead with a booking, to organise and deliver the hire. We do not use them to send you marketing you did not ask for.
Cookies and tracking
This website does not use Google Analytics, a Meta or Facebook pixel, advertising cookies, or any other third-party tracking or profiling tool. We do not build a profile of you and we have nothing to share with advertisers.
The site does set one essential cookie, used by the website software to maintain your session and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. It is necessary for the contact form to work securely. It does not track you across other websites.
Third parties that can see your visit
A few things on our pages are loaded from other companies, which means those companies can see the IP address your browser connects from. We keep this list deliberately short.
Our icons come from Cloudflare’s public cdnjs service and our fonts from Bunny Fonts, a font service chosen specifically because it does not set cookies or log personal data for tracking purposes.
Our online shop shows products from our partner store, Huyako. Your browser does not connect to Huyako — our server fetches the product listings and passes them on to you. If you type a search term into the shop, that search text is included in the request our server makes, but nothing identifying you is.
Links to our Facebook page, our YouTube channel and the WhatsApp chat button take you to services run by other companies. Once you follow one of those links you are on their platform and their privacy policy applies, not ours.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
We share it only where it is necessary to do the job you asked us to do — for example, giving a venue or a sub-contracted crew member the site contact details for an event they are working on — or where the law requires us to.
Our email is hosted by Google, so an enquiry you send us is stored on their mail service in the ordinary way that any email is.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails stay in our inbox while they are useful — an enquiry that becomes a booking is worth keeping as a record of the job, and past correspondence helps when a returning client comes back to us. We clear out what is no longer needed.
If you would rather we deleted your enquiry, tell us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email jmgaudio7@gmail.com or call (+263) 773 387 066 and we will deal with it.
Because we hold very little — essentially your enquiry email and our replies to it — these requests are usually quick to handle.
We handle personal information in line with Zimbabwe’s Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:12]. If you believe we have mishandled your information, please raise it with us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, which oversees data protection.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, so what you type into the contact form is protected in transit. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep the software current and we do not collect or store information we have no use for — which is the most effective protection of all.
Children
This website is aimed at people booking equipment for events and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles personal information — for example, if we ever add analytics or start storing enquiries — we will update this page and change the date below it. The version you are reading was last updated on the date shown at the top of this page.
