Book Event Equipment Hire in Zimbabwe — From Anywhere in the World

LED screens, air coolers, aircon, lighting, sound, stage, projectors, generators and effects — booked from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia or anywhere else. WhatsApp us, get a quote, pay in USD, and we handle everything on the ground.

If you are in the UK, the USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Mozambique, New Zealand or anywhere else outside Zimbabwe, and you are planning a wedding, a funeral, a memorial service, a church convention, a conference, a family celebration or any event back home — you can book all the equipment you need remotely through JMG Audio. We handle diaspora bookings every week: you tell us what the event is, where it is and when it is, and we quote, confirm, deliver, set up, operate and pack down without you needing to be there at all. Everything is priced in USD, we communicate on WhatsApp across every time zone, and we have done this enough times that your event runs exactly the same whether you are standing in the venue or sitting in London, Dallas, Toronto or Melbourne.

How booking from abroad works

The process is straightforward and built around WhatsApp, because that is how every diaspora client we have ever worked with prefers to communicate. You send us a message — or an email, or fill in the form on this site — with the event type, the date, the venue and what you need. We reply with a written quote, usually within a few hours regardless of your time zone. If the quote works, you confirm and pay a deposit. We take it from there.

Between the booking and the event, we stay in contact on the same WhatsApp thread. If your family on the ground needs to coordinate venue access or power arrangements, we speak to them directly. On the day, our crew arrives, sets up everything, operates the sound and lighting through the programme, and packs down at the end. You get photos or a quick video from the setup, and you can call us at any point during the event if you want to.

The only difference between a local booking and an overseas booking is how the deposit is paid. The rest — equipment, crew, setup, operation, quality — is identical. We do not have a separate 'diaspora package' with lower specs. You get the same gear and the same crew as someone who walks into our office in Harare.

What you can hire from abroad

Everything we offer locally is available for remote booking. LED screen hire gives you indoor and outdoor video walls for lyrics, slideshows, live camera feeds and presentations — a centrepiece at diaspora weddings and conferences. We also supply portable aircon and air cooler units for hot-season events in marquees, halls, churches and open-sided venues.

Lighting hire covers LED uplighting, wash lights, moving heads, follow spots, fairy-light canopies, festoon strings and any combination you need for a wedding, a stage production or a corporate function. Full PA and sound systems are available for any size of event — from a living-room memorial to a 2,000-guest wedding — including line array speaker systems, wireless microphones, mixing desks, DJ equipment and monitor systems.

We also supply staging and truss, projectors and projection screens, generators where mains power is unreliable or unavailable, and effects machines — haze, smoke, bubble, foam, confetti and cold sparks. If you are not sure what you need, describe the event and we will tell you.

Payment from overseas

We accept payment in US dollars, which makes life simple for diaspora clients. The main options are direct bank transfer in USD to our Zimbabwe bank account, EcoCash (including diaspora EcoCash and Econet remittance services), and Mukuru. If you have another transfer method that delivers USD to Zimbabwe, we can almost certainly work with it — ask us.

The deposit amount varies depending on the size of the job, and we confirm it in writing before you pay anything. The balance is due before the event day. For large bookings we can split the balance into two payments if that helps. Every payment gets a receipt, and the full breakdown is on the quote document you approved at the start.

We do not charge extra for diaspora bookings. The price is the price, whether you are booking from Harare or from London. The only additional cost that can apply is transport to the venue if it is outside Harare, and that is an itemised line on the quote so you can see exactly what it covers.

Where we deliver across Zimbabwe

Harare is our base, so events in and around the city — including Chitungwiza, Norton, Ruwa and the wider Mashonaland belt — are the easiest and cheapest to service. But we deliver nationwide, and diaspora events are often in locations that matter to the family rather than locations that are convenient for a supplier.

We regularly cover Victoria Falls, Kariba, Bulawayo, Mutare, Masvingo, Gweru, Kadoma, Chinhoyi, Bindura, Chiredzi, Beitbridge and everywhere in between. We deliver to rural areas, farms, mission stations, growth points and small towns — if there is a road, we will get there. Many diaspora funerals and memorial services are in rural homesteads, and we have the vehicles and crew to handle those jobs just as comfortably as a Harare conference centre.

Transport is quoted as a separate line on every job outside Harare, so you see the exact cost. For multi-service bookings — sound plus lighting plus screens, for example — everything travels on the same vehicle, which keeps the transport cost well below what you would pay sourcing each item separately.

Common diaspora events we handle

Weddings are the biggest category. A diaspora wedding in Zimbabwe is often a large event, sometimes split across two days and two venues, with high expectations for sound and lighting quality. We handle the full AV for the church ceremony, the reception, the traditional ceremony and any other component, coordinating with the wedding planner or the family on the ground.

Funerals and memorial services are the second most common. These are often arranged at very short notice, and we are set up to turn around a booking in 24 to 48 hours when needed. A funeral in a rural area needs a PA system that works off a generator and a crew that knows how to set up on uneven ground with no power points — we do this regularly.

Beyond weddings and funerals, we handle church conventions and camp meetings, corporate conferences and AGMs, family celebrations — 50th birthdays, anniversaries, homecoming parties — school fundraisers, graduation parties, and any other event where someone abroad is paying for or organising the function in Zimbabwe. If the event needs sound, lighting, screens or any of our equipment, we can do it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I book event equipment in Zimbabwe from the UK, USA, Canada or Australia?

Yes. We handle bookings from diaspora clients in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Mozambique, New Zealand and every other country regularly. The process runs on WhatsApp and email — you send us the event details, we quote in USD, you pay a deposit by bank transfer, EcoCash or Mukuru, and we handle everything on the ground. The equipment and crew are identical to a local booking.

How do I pay for event hire from abroad?

We accept US dollar bank transfers to our Zimbabwe bank account, EcoCash (including diaspora EcoCash and Econet remittance services), and Mukuru. If you have another method that delivers USD to Zimbabwe, ask us — we can usually work with it. A deposit secures the booking, and the balance is due before the event day. Every payment gets a receipt.

Do I need someone in Zimbabwe to meet you or supervise?

No. Our crew delivers, sets up, operates and packs down independently. We coordinate venue access and power arrangements directly with the venue or with your family on the ground if needed, but you do not need a representative on site. Many of our diaspora clients are not in the country at all on the event day, and the event runs exactly the same.

How far in advance should I book from abroad?

As early as you can, especially for weddings and large events on popular dates. Two to four weeks is comfortable for most bookings. Funerals and memorial services we can turn around in 24 to 48 hours when needed — we understand these cannot always be planned in advance. The earlier you book, the more likely we can guarantee the exact equipment and date.

Can you handle the full setup without me being there?

Yes, and we do this regularly. We set up the sound, lighting, screens, aircon, staging and any other equipment, operate it through the programme, and pack down at the end. We send you photos or a quick video from the setup so you can see everything in place, and you can call us at any point during the event. Many diaspora clients tell us the event ran better than if they had tried to manage it themselves from a distance.

Do you cover rural areas and small towns?

Yes. Diaspora funerals and memorial services are often at rural homesteads, mission stations, growth points and small towns. We have the vehicles and crew to get there and set up on uneven ground with generator power if needed. If there is a road, we will get there. Transport is quoted as a separate line so you can see exactly what it costs.

What if I need to change the booking after I have paid?

Date changes, equipment additions and other adjustments happen regularly with diaspora bookings — plans change, guest lists grow, venues move. Contact us on the same WhatsApp thread and we will update the quote. If the change increases the cost we will confirm the new figure before proceeding. We are flexible because we know overseas planning does not always go in a straight line.

Can I book multiple services together — sound, lighting, screens, aircon?

Yes, and most diaspora clients do exactly that. Booking everything from one supplier means one quote, one deposit, one crew and one point of contact — which is simpler when you are managing from another country. Multi-service bookings also travel on the same vehicle, which reduces transport costs for venues outside Harare.
